
“IPO” Initial Public
Offering. When a company’s shares become
“quoted” or “listed” on
a stock exchange, allowing the public to buy and
sell these shares. Sometimes the acronym “plc”
is used, although this is technically a misnomer
as a company can be a plc without being “listed”

for an event. In the case of companies, making
sure that the business is well ordered, there
are controls appropriate to being listed, and
the sponsoring broking and reporting accountant
